Hilary started singing and performing at an early age at church, school and for the famed Texas Girl's Choir. Music and performance scholarships to The University of North Texas and Texas Wesleyan were a credit to her talent, but they couldn't contain her for long. Actively singing in bands, recording a solo record in her 20's, and stage acting eventually led her to Japan and Los Angeles.

She learned to craft songs with beautiful melodies and personal themes from the likes of Rickie Lee Jones, James Taylor and Neil Finn (Crowded House).

When she returned home, she met Steve at "Music Night", a regular gathering of local musicians who share songs and a deep love of music. They began performing as a duet, and in 2022 they began co-writing songs for what would become their first album together, "Love (and other mysteries)".
